Belgin Yucelen

Artist Belgin Yücelen sculpts to communicate. It's her way to record emotions. She views her artwork as a philosophical journey through the essential elements of life. The human figure is often the main subject of her artwork.

For Yücelen, art is beautiful if it is simple and quiet. She sculpts ideas without details that obscure the art’s imaginary attributes; one must leave room for interpretation. Her end result is usually unknown, even though she's aware of why she is making it.

Yücelen is a sculptor, an installation artist, and a printmaker. Born in Istanbul Turkey, she studied sculpture at the Florence Accademia D'Arte, the University of Colorado in Boulder, Art Students League of Denver, and Scottsdale Art School.  Her artwork  is exhibited extensively throughout the United States. Recent exhibitions include; Harmony Hall in Fort Washington Maryland, Sarah Spurgeon Gallery at Central Washington University,  Ground Floor Gallery in Nashville Tennessee, and  the Lakeside Legacy Foundation in Dole Mansion Illinois. She is also a 2018 Executive Level Fellow awarded by the Clark Hulings Fund. Yücelen currently resides in Boulder Colorado.
