william debernardi

William DeBernardi received an MFA in painting from Indiana University in Bloomington Indiana in 1981 and a BFA in painting from Pennsylvania State University in State College Pennsylvania in 1978. Working primarily in oil, DeBernardi's artwork is rooted in the realist tradition. His painting and drawing repertoire also includes; gouache, pencil, and charcoal. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Art Department of Carlow University in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania where he teaches courses in drawing, painting, design, and printmaking.

 

DeBernardi's artwork has been exhibited not only regionally and nationally but also internationally in China, France, and Venezuela. Most notably, he was chosen to exhibit in the international invitational exhibition “Justice/Peace” in Changchun China in 1995 and presented a solo exhibition "People, Places and Things" at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art in Ligonier Pennsylvania in 2012. His work is in private, corporate, and museum collections throughout the United States and in France, Italy, and Venezuela.
